Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Review
There is a new tablet PC in town. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is coming soon to a technology addict near you. With a lot of new and unique features, it will make this tablet your new favorite toy. The first thing you will notice is how streamlined the 10.1 is. At only 565 grams, this tablet is not going to weigh you down. The tablet is only 8.6mm, so it will fit nicely in your favorite purse or even a backpack. The Samsung quality you have come to expect is no doubt present in this device, as it is made of an almost indestructible and sturdy plastic. With that in mind, you will not need to worry about dropping and breaking this device, which is always a concern for quality devices. With a versatile rectangular shape, you will have the option of orienting your Galaxy either horizontally or vertically - whichever view suits your needs best. There is also a generously sized 1280 x 800 WXGA screen that allows you to see even the finest detail. The Galaxy also offers a very stylish and fingerprint resistant silver matte finish.

Let's take a look at the toys that are available with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. After all, the accessories are a part of the experience that make you want to rush out and buy it a device like this. Samsung has made an improvement to the speaker placement on the Galaxy. The two speakers are now located on the right and left sides in a higher position than before. Now, there is no issue with accidentally putting your hands over the speakers while you try listening to your favorite tunes or catch a Matt Damon movie. Samsung compares these speakers to a surround sound system, with the speakers offering nice sound quality. If you watch your movies while your tablet is flat on a table, this would invariably muffle a speaker located on the back of your device. With the Samsung, you are able to get sound clarity whether you have the device on its back or you are holding it.

One disappointment in the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is the camera. There is a 2 megapixel front camera. This is nice for video chatting, taking self-portraits and offers the higher level of picture clarity of the two cameras. There is also a 3 megapixel camera on the back. When you are taking pictures of your children or other memory-worthy experiences, this camera lets you see what you are shooting before you take the picture. You can also get some very nice video footage with this device. Unfortunately, Samsung chose to not have a flash with this model. They also left off the auto-focus this time around. The lack of flash means this won't be your first choice for taking pictures in a nightclub or on an evening around town.

Samsung has added some very nice features to its keyboard for the Galaxy. One particularly exciting feature is the number row right on the keyboard. No more having to touch a key in order to get to the numbers and symbols. If you are like most folks, you probably find it quite irritating to tap repeatedly on the screen to access numbers. There is also a tab key, which you do not often see on keyboards like this. Another great addition to the functionality of writing on the Galaxy is the handwriting recognition function. You are given an area to "write" with your finger and the Galaxy will learn to recognize your handwriting and translate it into typed text. This is probably one of the most fun keyboard options available. It is not only able to catch on to less than perfect handwriting quite quickly, it is able to catch on to different types of handwriting, as well. Many people who try this feature enjoy how fun and easy it is.

Samsung has provided a 7,000 mAh battery to go along with the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. This is not the best battery on the market - but nor is it the worst. When you consider that the Galaxy is very reasonably priced at $450, this is not a bad offering. When tested, the Galaxy 2 battery generally lasted between 8 and 9 hours - which is a fairly decent battery life in comparison to many. Unless you go on vacation to Gilligan's island where you can't charge it, this should be sufficient for even the most dedicated tablet user/addict. The Samsung Galaxy 2 has some really great new features and some fairly standard ones. The price is very reasonable for a tablet. It is certainly worth the cost. Check out all the fun stuff that comes with it as well as the exciting options that Samsung offers. You'll not only have fun - you will probably own your very own Samsung Galaxy 2 10.1 tablet afterwards.
