Step 1: Capture Your Photos Using Your Camera Phone

Flowers
I usually take photos of myself for my social media profiles, family and friends at social events, products I want to add to my wish list or a grocery list that I need to use for later. You decide what photos you want and just save them to your phone. Maybe you want photos of nature, your craft project, your garden tools, that big fish you caught while fishing or your favourite foods. The choice is yours so have plenty of fun capturing and saving your photos.

Step 2A: Connect Your USB Cable

USB Charging Data Cable
The USB Charging Cable can be used to send photos from your cell phone or mobile phone to your PC. Follow the steps below to connect your USB Data Cable to your Samsung GT-i5500 and to your PC.

  1. Connect the Micro USB end (smaller end) to the phone.

  2. Connect the USB end (larger end) to the PC.

  3. The phone will recognize the connection and prompt you to choose which USB Setting should be used.

  4. Select the "UMS Mode Only" option.

  5. Navigate to the "Computer" folder on your PC. You should see the Removable Disk icon. This indicates that your Samsung is correctly connected to the PC.

Step 2B: Insert your MicroSD Card into your Computer

MicroSD Card and SD Adapter
The second option is to use your MicroSD card and a card adapter. My laptop already comes with an SD Card reader. If your laptop does not have this then you need to connect a card reader to your laptop.

Please follow the instructions carefully to avoid damaging your phone when you remove your card. Remember to check to ensure that the photos are on your MicroSD Card. You can use your My Files app or any other Folder viewing app to do this. Photos are stored in the "/DCIM/Camera" directory.

  1. Navigate to Settings on your phone

  2. Navigate to SC Card & Phone Storage and select "Unmount SD Card"

  3. The phone will prompt you to confirm. Select "OK".

  4. The Notifications area will display a message "SD card safe to remove".

  5. Turn off your phone

  6. Remove the back cover and battery and remove the card

  7. Insert your MicroSD Card into the SD Adapter

  8. Insert your SD Adapter into your portable card reader or directly into your laptop's card reader

  9. Navigate to the "Computer" folder on your PC. You should see the Removable Disk icon. This indicates that your Samsung is correctly connected to the PC.
