Whats the Best Digital Camera for You?
Point and Shoots
Point and Shoots are great cameras for occasions where you have to carry a camera for a long time. Because point and shoots are small and fit into your pocket with ease. With point and shoot cameras you literally point and shoot. They are great for taking a picture really quick. Like if you want to take a picture of a child opening his presents on his birthday. You know he's going to tear the wrapping off in an instant . You have to be quick with cameras or you might miss the shot. Point and shoots are also great for uploading to the computer. If you have a daughter that likes to take pictures or herself and friends and post them onto facebook, point and shoots are the camera for her. These are the upsides to point and shoots.
The downsides are that you are limited with point and shoots. You cannot change the lens to point and shoot cameras. Therefore you don't not have a greater chance to adapt the situation you need. However if you are the person on the move and don't have time to change the settings on a camera. Then point and shoots are for you!
Now lets go over some of the best point and shoot cameras out there.

Canon PowerShot S100

This camera is rated number 1 in pc world. And I think it looks like a great digital camera. It has 12.1 megapixels. It also has a cool GPS function that tells you where you took the picture. However beware because I heard that people can use your photos to track down where you live. Howver the GPS function can be turned off. It's a bit pricey. The Powershot is also rated 4.5/5 on PC World. The camera is a little pricey. However I think that this camera is worth it. Because it will take good quality photos, and it has a ton of features. This camera is good for novices and advanced shooters because it has a manual and automatic function. This camera also takes really good videos. The colors are Black or Silver.
Canon Powershot SD4000

This camera has 10 megapixels and I think is awesome. It is very good with low light images. It has a f2.0 lens which allows you to create shallow depth of field effects which is awesome for a point and shoot camera. There are a few bad parts to this camera? It doesn't have s lot of buttons for modes and stuff. It also doesn't take very good videos in lowlight situations. However from what I've been reading this camera seems really fun to use and simple. I think all the stuff you could do with the f2.0 lens is very cool. So this camera may be the one for you.
Canon PowerShot S95

The Canon PowerShot S95 is a camera that is really great for beginners. This 10 megapixel killer has a very good automatic and manual mode. So I'd say that this is a very good camera to get before getting a DSLR camera. Get some practice with the modes, and if you like it then move up to the DSLR camera. It has a 3.8x zoom. Which is good. It also takes very good videos. However I think this camera would be really good practice for the DSLR cameras. However is a really good camera if you just want a point and shoot.
Nikon Coolpix S9100

This camera offers 12 megapixels and an 18x zoom. This camera is highly rated as one of the best point and shoot cameras. It is said that novices and professionals enjoy this camera because of its easy use. The only bad part of this camera is that it does not have a manual function. Which isn't bad because it is reviewed to have one of the best automatic features out there. So if you are a person that documents birthday parties, vacations, etc. This is the camera for you. Very simple, very prestigious.
Nikon Coolpix P7100

Due to its 10 megapixels this bad boy was very popular and desired amongst most beginner and advanced photographers. It has awesome low lighting video taking and has a 7.1x zoom. The highest ISO it can get is 12800 which is really good. The say that this camera can be a little complex to use with all of its abiliities. However I think that you can learn those easily. I'd probably buy this camera because all of the reviews seem great.
Nikon Coolpix P300

This camera is highly rated in PC World. Which I know says PC but they do really good reviews for technology. However this camera is 12 megapixels and has a 4.2x zoom. This camera takes photos really well in low light situations. It has manual and aperture shutter controls. Its f1.8 lens will give your photos a bright look to them. And has a lot of features for the money you are paying. It is very highly rated among people and is said to be easy to use.
Samsung SH100

The Samsung SH100 is one of the best cameras if you have a low budget. Because it is priced around a hundred dollars. However has really good reviews for such a cheap camera. It is in PC Worlds top ten list for point and shoot cameras. It has an awesome 14 megapixels. It is said to be fun and easy to shoot. It has a touch screen. And if that is not good enough this camera has a wireless sharing feature. This camera sounds a lot of fun if you like to show friends or people on facebook all the fun your having. I think this is an awesome camera for the price. Its color choices are red, black, or silver.
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX100V

This camera got really good reviews amongst the people. It has a built in user's manual that shows you how to use it whenever, it has a 30x stabalized zoom which is pretty sick. The only problems is that it is said to have soft images at high ISO. But this camera is solid with its high quality images, its ability to make good videos and its futuristic features. So to me this camera sounds really good. Ive been impressed with Sony they are actually making really good cameras. They used to not be so good.
dSLR Cameras
For all you guys out there that don't know what dSLR stands for, it stands of digital single-lens reflex. Most dSLR cameras are based off the 35mm film cameras. However instead of film they have a digital screen! Yay so much easier. Instead of images being tranported to film. They are tranported on to a memory card. With dSLR cameras you can change the lens, unlike the point and shoots. However unless you are an avid photographer I recommend that you don't get this camera unless you are willing to learn how to use it. A good way to learn is to take classes. Because these cameras are tools NOT TOYS. Professional photographers use these cameras. However if you want a hobby. This is an awesome one to pick up. If you are creative with these cameras and can use them to their full potential than you can be one of the worlds best photographers.
Some of the downsides to these cameras are that they are bulky. These bad boys can't simply fit in your pocket. You all to carry them all the way. Another downside is that to use them to their full potential it takes a lot of practice. They are much more complex than a point and shoot camera.
You can't really go wrong with a Canon or Nikon dSLR camera. Even if the camera model is a few years old it should take very nice pictures.
Now lets get to some of the best DSLR Cameras.

Canon EOS Rebel T3i

This camera is what a lot of people say is one of the best. It takes wonderful photos and videos. It has a crazy 18 megapixels. That is sick! There are a lot of people happy with this camera. And there are few that aren't. However this is the dSLR camera that I want. But I lack the cash necassary for buying it. I've even considered stealing one. But we all know that it'd be a sin. Plus there was a nice thick piece of glass blocking me from it. But this is the camera I want. Canon cameras have really good quality for their prices. So this camera makes some photographers like me drool.
Canon EOS Rebel T3

This camera is highly rated as one of the best dSLR cameras. It has a 12.2 megapixels and has a 18-55 mm lens and can take HD movies. This camera is a bit one of the cheaper ones but still takes really good photos. I reccomend this camera because it is so versitle. Whether you wanna take pictures or videos. This camera is really good but doesn't compare to the Canon EOS Reble T3i. However can still take really beautiful photos. And is a lot cheaper.
Nikon D5000

The Nikon D5000 is the top camera for Nikon fans. This camera has 12.3 megapixels. And it is reviewed greatly for high photo quality and it video capabilities. Few people don't like the look of it. But they love the easiness of it. This camera is more for beginners. Which I think is a bit crazy since its a pricey camera. But hey if I had the money to spend on a camera. I totally would. I just don't.... However this would be my second choice in a dSLR camera.
Nikon D3100

The Nikon D3100 14.2 megapixels and has a 18-55 mm lens. It has excellent photo quality and a well laid out controls. It has a user friendly guide mode and full manual controls in video capture. It is a solid camera but lacks speed. It not as good as the D5000 but is better than most dSLR cameras.
Memory Cards
All memory card are basically the same. Only some of the more major brands are more reliable. But if you take care of them then it's really not that bad buying an off brand one. SanDisc is the best brand to buy in my opinion and Cameras usually come with one when you buy it. Kingston is not a bad brand either. The ones that come with your camera are usually really small like 2G. And when you are taking pictures you really don't want to worry about having enough space. The memory cards are almost always SD cards. Which is nice because they are pretty cheap. However make sure you look at which one you need before buying.
