These two products are too similar to distinguish. So, I'd better say something about them together.
The most difference between them is the size of screen. Samsung galaxy tab 10.1 has a screen of 10.1 inches while 8.9 has one of 8.9 inches. So, you can deduce that Samsung galaxy tab 8.9 is lighter than 10.1. What's more, Samsung tab galaxy 8.9 has no sub camera but Samsung tab galaxy 10.1 has a sub camera about 2MP. The sub camera contributes to video chat.
When comparing with Samsung tab galaxy 7, these two have great improvements. Because they all include the Android Honeycomb (version 3.1 to be exact). This is an important ascension.
