All about Digital Cameras
Digital images are less expensive.

First, it's not uncommon to fit 500 or more photos on a single memory stick. That is 10 rolls of film at the largest, high quality settings. These are repeated shots with no time out to change film or change film type. If you are using film you would have to change film for both indoor and outdoor shots. If you use digital photography there is no need for frequent trips to the store. You save time, money and fuel by not having to purchase numerous rolls of film then have them developed.
Digital images can be enhanced.

Second, effective processing means it's possible to bring the not so good shots up to perfectly satisfactory images with an image enhancement program like Photoshop, without having to first scan the negative. If some pictures are too dark, they can be lightened. What you might have discarded to bad exposure or color can now be saved with a small amount of effort.
Digital images promote sharing.

Third, it is much harder to share film photos with family and friends unless everybody gets together. Digital images are of far superior to scanned images for the internet. With this it's easy to upload digital photos. Then, not only can family and friends view the digital photos, but they can download their own. You can also send images by email instead of sending printed photos by regular mail. This is faster, more convenient and relieves the photographer of the financial and organizational trouble of delivering the digital photos.
Digital Cameras
They are smarter.

Fourth, the photographer instantly knows about failure and other user error. No more forgetting to load film or trying to remember what film speed you loaded.
You have instant pictures and no lost rolls of film. Your pictures are in the unit until you delete or save them elsewhere allowing you to view your pictures instantly instead of waiting for the film to be developed.
