There is plenty about this television to appeal to the average consumer, from the High Definition freeview to the absolutely stunning 3D HD blah blah blah...

Oh god, one sentence in and I'm already sounding like a corporate marketing douchebag.

To be honest you have probably moved on to another page by now, the attention span of the average Internet user having attenuated to the level of a mayfly. There are so few genuine readers in fact that I could probably fill the rest of this review with a treatise on my love for cats, swarfega, German 80s *cough* art movies and how to combine all three in one blissful yet soul burning weekend........


Right, back again.

Sorry just a bit of private contemplation there. Where was I? Ah, just about to plaster on a fake smile and plough through another pointless review wasn't I.

For the sake of this actually deserving the title review I suppose I had better go over some of the features . As mentioned above, this TV has more connectivity than you can shake a stick at. In fact the devices you can plug in to it weigh more than the TV does.


It has 3 HDMI (could have done with 4), 3 USB, 1 headphone jack (if you're a miserable sob and won't let the kids listen), Component in, composite in, optical out, PC in, in out in out shake it all about, Scart in (seriously? who the hell is still using scart?) RF in * 2, DVI in and Ethernet in (if you still live in a tree and don't have wireless).



The social features of the UE40ES6710 will be useful for those of you who haven't already given up on society as a cruel and miserable joke. You have? Well that's OK then, I'll not bother mentioning that it integrates Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, Skype and all the other social ephemera that seems to to have grown up around the current generation. Turning them into a bunch of entitled narcissistic talentless drones.



The wifi sharing on the other hand is something of a joy. Yep you read that right, I'm not going to moan this time. The TV connected first time, identified all my available devices and was streaming my "content" in seconds. The associated Samsung web storage even means I can take the Frauleins with me wherever I go in the world. Finally I can stop explaining my collection of DVDs at customs.....

Well that's pretty much it for this short review. Better images blah blah, vivid colours blhrgh blhrgh etc etc.



All in all I'm very happy with the latest offering from Samsung and considering the cost just hope the damn thing doesn't blow up.
