The Samsung D490 43" 3D TV offer an enhanced viewing experience at an entry level price for a 3D television set. This TV will come in well under 500 making it a great pre-Christmas buy. The picture and sound quality are excellent with bright natural colours and true, vivid black. The set is easy to set up and so far I have not had to adjust any settings to enjoy 3D movies.

The build quality and finish of the Samsung D490 television set is of a high standard and Samsung's +1 bezel design makes the TV set less obtrusive to your viewing experience. The glossy black finish to the frame and stand will add a touch of luxury to your TV room. The 2 10W speakers enhance the audio experience of the TV set.

The remote control is functional, with big, spaced out buttons for ease of use. You can also use this remote control to play movie content from your USB stick which can be connected to the Samsung TV, with the connection at the left hand side of the set for ease of access. Setting up the Sky remote for volume control was also straight forward to do.

Whilst the active shutter glasses may be more expensive than regular passive 3D glasses, the enhanced viewer experience is well worth the extra money. Samsung 3D glasses are widely available and the battery life is around 150 hours. The active shutter technology of the 3D glasses also deliver 720p of resolution to each eye, better than some HD televisions which split the resolution, giving each eye 540 pixels.
