Though Samsung Electronic came from relatively modest beginnings after being founded in South Korea, the impact that this electronics powerhouse has had over the last few decades cannot be ignored. It would be hard to ignore Samsung anyway, because it has been the world's-largest IT producer since 2009. Because of the company's dedication to quality while remaining affordable, Samsung has been dominating the television market for the better part of the decade. Between 2006 to 2010, there was not a single company that managed to sell as many televisions throughout the world as Samsung. Moreover, when it comes to LCD sales, Samsung has been leading the pack for eight years straight.

However, Samsung Electric Industries was not always a market leader. The earliest products that this subsidiary of Samsung Group sold when founded in 1969 included washing machines, air conditioners, refrigerators, calculators, and of course - televisions. After only being on the market for a decade, the company manufactured more than 10 million black-and-white televisions.

Samsung continues to lead the way in relates to innovation and has received numerous awards that not only heralded the quality of the televisions, but also praised the companies dedication to innovation. A clear sign of innovation from Samsung was the fact that it became the first company that had an entire line of 3D offerings when it came to home entertainment. The entire Samsung 3D line includes 3D glasses, 3D content, a 3D Blu-ray player, and a 3D television. Six months after it had launched its first 3D television, Samsung managed to sell more than one million 3D televisions.

Amongst the most important reasons provided as to why one should buy a Samsung LED TV by T3 (a UK electronics magazine) included the connectivity, energy efficiency, slim design, and superior picture quality. If the last decade is anything to go on, chances are that Samsung will not be giving up its prominent position when it comes to the design of televisions any time soon.
