If you are planning to get a new TV in the next 6-12 months, I would say Yes! This is the coming technology, and you don't want to have to buy a new TV down the road, when all the TV stations are starting to offer 3D programming. The 3D HDTV's out today offer the 3D capability, but they also function as a regular TV, and the cost is not much more.

Technology is zooming fast these days. It seem just a few years ago I was collecting all my favorite movies on VHS (gosh did I just date myself?) and now I am doing it all over with DVD's and what about Blu-ray? Do I have to start all over again?

I don't want this to happen to me with a large purchase like a TV, so I am going with the most up to date, newest technology NOW. But I did my research and homework on which TV was the best and which ones got the best reviews from customer who already had them. I found the best company making 3D HDTV's right now to be Samsung. But everyone should do their own research.

I have found this TV to be awesome, reliable and a great value for the quality of product. Although it may not be the cheapest, I have learned what cheap is worth... not much. The cheap TV's break or start failing shortly after the 1 year warranty, or you have to send it in to get it repaired. Good luck sending a 48 to 50 inch flat screen to the manufacturer, it will cost you as much as the TV did, plus you'll need a small fork lift to get it to the Post Office.

I can't wait for the 3D programming on regular TV to start. I am a bit apprehensive about horror movies in 3D, but then the regular horror movies give me nightmares anyway... so maybe I'll stay away from 3D Horror. In this economy of less going out, why not make your staying the best it can be. The kids love it!

And the internet TV thing is going to be HUGE! Surf the internet over your TV, video chat with your friends and family, play games, get headlines from newspapers around the world, use facebook, twitter, and hundreds of other apps, right from the comfort of your living room! Televisions have really come a long way, soon our TV's will be able to do almost everything our computers do. VERY COOL!!!

Samsung is developing an APP Store too, like Apple's App store, which is supposed to be amazing. Imagine the possibilities, hundreds of apps right on your TV. Soon we won't even need computers and TV's, just TV's!!!

With 3D TV, images jump out at you as you watch. 3D Movies and TV programs are coming faster and faster each day. Soon the Cable and Satellite companies will begin to start having 3D programming. They are already working on it.

3D TV and Movies make the experience more real and draws the viewer into the action like never before. I think it is really cool. I enjoy the movies already out in theaters, and we have all probably seen the big imax shows.

3D TV's can also display regular HD programing, so there is no worry that it will only be good for 3D movies and programs.

Why do we need the glasses to view 3D programming? Because of the spacing between our eye, they see images slightly differently, and at different angles. In real life, the brain merges these two images into a single three-dimensional image. In 3D programs and movies the images are displayed as two separate, overlapping images to create the illusion of depth. One image is intended for the left eye, the other for the right. A pair of 3D Glasses helps viewers perceive the two 2D images as one 3D image.
